Hojlund Ends Drought as Man United Cruise Past Leicester
Manchester United secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium in Leicester, England, piling further pressure on the struggling Foxes.
Rasmus Hojlund ended his 21-game goal drought by scoring in the first half after capitalising on the hosts’ poor defending. Alejandro Garnacho doubled United’s lead in the second half, while Bruno Fernandes sealed the win with a superb late-game strike.
For Leicester, the defeat marked an unwanted record: they became the first team in English Premier League (EPL) history to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men remain nine points from safety, with relegation looking increasingly inevitable.
United’s performance was far from flawless, but Ruben Amorim’s side showed signs of improvement, building on their Europa League success. However, the victory was overshadowed by a serious injury to centre-back Ayden Heaven, who impressed on his first EPL start before being stretchered off early in the second half.
Despite their growing injury list, the Red Devils’ win lifted them to 13th place on the EPL table with 37 points, offering hope for a stronger finish to the season.
